It felt good to be back....

Finishing is no big deal. Really, anyone can finish a run or race. Getting started is where the victory lies. Today, I asked God to open my eyes while I ran so I could be in tune with what he is doing, so I could be aware of his movements, so I could experience him. I asked for the wrong thing. I should have asked for him to KEEP MY EYES OPEN. My eyes, mind, heart were all in line as I set out this morning. The rain was coming down gently, I started to think about how easy it is to run in the rain, but how hard it is to run before or after the rain, that is when it all fell apart. All of a sudden I was thinking about me as Batman singing "You raise me up." Strange as that may sound, there is a youtube video of me doing just that. I jumped from that to how beautiful my wife is, to picking up Nathan, to call the doctor, to picking up a table, to going to Wal-Mart, etc..... I could not stop and just listen to God, or see God, let alone feel his presence. I could not get started. I slipped back into routine. I slipped back into distraction. I slipped. I want to be dedicated. I want to be disciplined. I want to be still. I want to start strong, because I know I can finish.

  1. Good to see a post.
You asked God to open your eyes to what he is doing. You began to run and you thought about your beautiful wife, Nathan, the call to the doctor....you see, he answered your prayer. These are all things that he is doing...doing for you.

    ...to the journey...
